A hypnotherapy treatment uses guided relaxation, intense concentration and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness commonly referred to as trance.
This trance-like state, which we all enter into naturally, many times throughout our day, is similar to being completely absorbed in a book, movie, meditation or even one’s own thoughts.
Have you ever driven a car and noticed that you don’t remember part of the journey? This is because you have entered a trance-like state.
You will also be aware that, although you don’t remember part of the journey, you were fully in control while driving your car; indicating, stopping at a red light, following a familiar route to your destination, all whilst in this trance-like state and that is the same during a hypnotherapy session. You will enter into a trance-like state while being fully in control throughout the session.
The purpose of a hypnotherapy session is to assist you in finding meaningful alternatives to your current unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
While in a trance-like state it is common to experience;
- Your breathing and heart rate slowing down
- Feeling relaxed and in the moment
- Increased ability to focus your attention
- Your body and mind completely relaxed
- A heightened sensory awareness
- Feeling a deeper connection to your true self
- An openness to suggestions that will help
- Ability to breath into and tolerate pain
What Hypnotherapy can help with but not limited to is:
- Anxiety/Social Anxiety
- Fears & Phobias
- Sexual Anxiety
- Panic Attacks
- Weight Management
Duration of a Hypnotherapy session is one hour.
As standard, before your first Hypnotherapy session, I offer a free one hour discovery consultation to establish what the issue is and what it is you actually want.
